Common theme this season
« on: July 28, 2014, 11:47:54 PM »
I have been plauged by wrong, defective or wrong number of parts ordered online this season.   The most recent were jets for the Ebay Bobber.  I ordered from Sirius Sonic (Canadian Company) 2 sets of jets for my new Mkuni VM carbs.  They sent one set.  At least it only took three days to arrive.   I am awaiting my replacement rotor for my electronic ignition for the Smithers XS650 Bobber.  I've had several other wrong parts or defective parts delivered this spring/summer.  All suppliers have been great and sent the proper or replacement parts .. still the hassle is a hassle.  I have had the XS650 insured for a month and a half and have only ridden it to the A & W once, and that was on one cylinder.

At least it is still better than the pre-internet days when you sent a letter with a money order, and 30 days later you got the wrong parts..... but still.  It pisses me off.

Peace & Parts Suppliers, Dennis

A cerain owner/parts manager whom shall remain nameless used to drive me mental. Transposed numbers, skipping a line, not confirming the order went through, forgot etc.! When I was in parts all ordering was done over the phone- so I would say "37541 for 1, should come up as a clutch cable" and Kim at Kimpex (who had the sexiest voice EVER!) would say "yes, 4 in stock in Calgary, should be on your afternoon freight tomorrow. It almost always was. You can't get that much imformation from a computer that quickly. Also, the keyboard does not have a sexy voice. No waiting for a reply on the phone. I feel your pain. For those who don't know Chris Bayliss who in my opinion is the best motorcycle partsman in town is moving back to Yamaha from Cycle North in about 2 weeks. Right part on time. CHEERS.
