General Discussion / Re: New (home made) bike lift

looks great!  My only regret with the PA lifts is the amount of space required to work with it. This one looks compact and light.

Who do I write to for an order for 2 of them?

General Discussion / New (home made) bike lift

I finally got my new bike lift finished and painted.  Unfortunately POR 15 colored paint has been taken off the market (my favorite paint for this application-- because it's highly resistant to brake fluid and engine oil).  Probably some idiot tried to drink it to get high.  So instead I used old fashioned enamel that's stinky and took a week to cure.

The lift is more compact and lighter than the Princess Auto style lifts.  The lifting device is a boat trailer winch which is not quite as elegant as the hydraulics on the store bought lifts.  The project did provide lots of TIG welding practice though.

General Discussion / Collection o bikes for sale
« Last post by stevecrout on January 06, 2025, 05:43:41 AM »
A friend of mine here in Summerland is wanting to reduce his collection of Nortons and Infield's. All except one are in very good condition. He has a number of Commandos and an Enfield twin.
He has indicated a wish to sell at a reduced price but you're best to discuss this with him. He recognizes the market for these bikes has taken a kicking lately.

If I could fit anything else in my place I would jump on them but even my Harley has to sit out in the cold with a tarp over it and a trickle charger keeping it alive.

I've seen these bikes and they are in very good shape.

Call Jim at 250 462 2445.

May all of you enjoy the celebration of Christmas and the New Year.
A thank you to all those who helped revive the neglected black BMW and to Steve for exercising the steed a few times.

give him my e-address and mobile number.

There is a 1979 Honda 400 Hawk in the pilot mountain bike hoard that appears to be in excellent shape.  If he wants this bike for parts, let me know.  The only cost would be to give us some help in clearing out the bike hoard.  It might be a whole lot easier to swap engines than to try to repair the engine in the CM400.  Also, there will be a pair of wheels, a chain, exhaust components, ignition system, clutch cables.  All this stuff costs mega $$$$$ if ordered from Cycle North (or any other honda place)
