A newbies experience with the club, and members
« on: December 13, 2011, 01:45:22 AM »
 :)

Hey all,

i just wanted to through this out there. As a newbie to motorcycles (but experience with dirt bikes and scooters hahaha) I came to the club rides and meetings this last summer. I was met with welcoming and encouragement. I started mega gung ho and collected a heaping scrap yard in weeks. I have had big plans to build a bobber! cuz I love them rat bikes and bobbers!

Since Sept. I became scarce around the club. I wanted to say that my Masters degree I am working on has eating all my time and energy. Much greater than I thought. I figured I could build a bike and do my masters. This does not look to be the case. I sold the bikes I collected reluctantly. However, all hope is not lost. I will give myself to the end of this Masters degree till I decide what kind of project I will engage in. Or perhaps one that is meant to be will fall into my lap.

I just wanted to thank the club members who all have been welcoming and encouraging. I am going to be around still and just have reprioritized. But anyone who knows me knows that I got huge respect for the artists, mechanics, and bikers (without negative connotations) that I have met in this club. Here is my holiday cheer to you all!

Thank you and bike (not god) speed!

Daniel

I have run into DanielG on a couple of occasions around town and, as he says above, the demands on his time are not the kind easily put off.  Daniel, the club will probably be there,  essentially unchanged in spirit at least, when you are in a position to extract some free time from what is now a packed and draining schedule, so in the meantime, apply yourself with zeal and in good conscience, and thank you for your wishes and observations.  We look forward to your re-appearance at the club when you are in a better position to indulge your innate interests...

Thanks for the kind words.  Did you actually get rid of all your stuff? That KZ400 would have been one cool bobber.

Peace and Grease, Dennis

I met Danielg a week or so before becomming aquainted with the PGVMC. I saw his bikes for sale, and wanting a winter project (or two) picked up the lot. Thanks Daniel! (seems like a nice fellow too!)
The CB750's will be a great source for parts for my CB750F SS. I may even get one of the bikes running - I'm close, but that will be for another thread topic...
I have the '76 KZ400, stored indoors with all its parts sorted out and bagged up, but it seems to be missing the carb set. My first attempt to turn up a set @ New Life Cycle failed. It's a very cool little bike, but my interest is with the CB750's right now. I may be letting it go to a good home, if I can find someone... or someone with carbs for it?

Knowing  Meister Paul, it is probably some super-specific nomenclature describing the exact model year or equipment of whatever Kawasaki is under discussion...
