Honda parts
« on: November 04, 2011, 08:17:01 PM »
Courtney called me today from Cycle north. They want to know if we still want the obsolete parts. Told her I would check with the club and get back to her pronto. Hate to see nos parts go in the dumpster. We could pick them up perhaps Mon. or Tues. take them to my boss' shop and have a sort night Tues? Let me know.

It would be charitable if they could be picked up by someone. I believe some of us are going to be at Steamers this Tuesday, Charley is bringing some parts by.

I am all for picking up the parts.  The main issue tho was of the value of the parts.  Was that ever finalized?  If no one else can I will pick up the parts, I can.  I am in the middle of replacing a fresh air inlet to the furnace but I could probably squeeze it in today or tomorrow.  Give me a call if you need me to pick them up.  My number is on the member's list.

Russ was right-one bin and a large box but I have them. Some good stuff and some junk. Anybody need a new taillight lens foe a CBX? Almost as wide as the engine.

Mike B and I looked at the CBX bag after he was up and around again, but he wasn't interested in one exhaust valve, 2 shims, this gasket, that gasket, and a taillight lens (which they were valuing at $75, or something, when aftermarket ones are $20) etc. in spite of having a bent-up CBX that actually did have a broken taillight lens.  Since a guy who actually needed parts in the bags right at that moment still wouldn't spring for the random grab-bag, I figured the whole thing was a bust.  I looked at the CB500T bag - which contained just one bolt, which I didn't immediately recognize as singular and essential, and put it entirely out of my mind.
I'm sure the some of the stuff will be of use to somebody sometime, if it can just find it's way to that point...

I think the parts were free so they should be free- should be right in Mike's price range. Who else would want that ugly lens anyway?

Well movie night unloaded close to half. Ian Russ has a good bag of gl 1500 parts for you. TL 125 parts for Blagdon. CBX taillight goes to Mike Beswick. Stuntman there are a lot of XR and Cr parts left. Please call me. Would like to see these parts go to good use. Movie and the soup were both excellent. Bet Steamers loves us. Donovan wins big score score with  parts for his cb 360 and gl 1000.

...and Robyn's CB125S.  Don't want to leave that out.

Dave, your TL125 haul is a single part - which looks to be some sort of motor mount or spacer for same.  Nicely painted, though!

Wayne thanks for bringing the parts to Steamers.  Yes I guess I did score big (sort of).  Went through the bags today and will use some for current projects and others stored for a rainy day.  Too bad I had already bought some timing belts for the GL1000,although they might come in handy for another GL1000 project.

If the ones you bought are are aftermarket use the Honda ones. Rubber like good wine and whiskey gets better with age when properly stored.Don't have to worry about how old they are.
