Parts of Tabour have been paved...test 'er there  ;D
I live with fear and danger everyday, but sometimes I leave her at home and go motorcycling.

Cool bike - I like the minimalist look. Nothing extra - just what is needed to make it go...

Looks nice.  No tach?  How will the 100lb pilot you no doubt have ready to ride it know when to shift?  Looking forward to seeing it run.

For the record I am 135 lbs and shift by the seat of my pants. Oh yeah, he hasn't asked me yet. My r.t. sucks but can get to the other end expediently. Cheers.

I couldn't resist snagging this photo from MaximX's photobucket.  I even have the front wheel off the ground.

This video was an inspiration for my bike.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST4jjH4rPGc

Supposedly he was getting less than 10 second 1/4 miles but the internet is full of braggarts.   There are lots of comments following the video.  One thing I noticed was he really cranked up the sprocket ratios.

Here is a great video of a CR500 with the timing verified.  10.5 at 120mph

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJTuQrSbAfw

I started this project wanting a 500cc or a 490 air cooled two stroke.  I ended up using an IT400 because I got it for $160.  I have only had to add steel for the frame and tires ( and a few others odds & sods)  The rest of it was hanging around my shop.  I still think there is a latent  sub 13 seconder  waiting to blossom from this pile of vintage dirt bike.

Peace & performance, Dennis

That's an awesome bike Dennis. Don't think I've ever seen an Dirtbike/Dragster. The exhaust turned out nice.
