Shep Shop Night
« on: April 10, 2024, 12:43:30 PM »
Shep hosted a shop night last night

Project was to install new fuel pump and related parts in K model BMW which is fuel injected.   Many of us have only dealt with carbureted bikes (myself included) so this was new.

After the fuel pump was installed, we went to put the tank on the bike and discovered a new problem;  forks won't smoothly turn from left to right.  The consensus is that it must be due to the fork lock, but by that time it was late and many attendees had to go.   Frustrated Shep had never had this problem before the brethren started mucking with it.   A bit of Googling revealed that BMW owners (of this model anyways) are advised to never touch the steering lock because it can only lead to doom and gloom.

Peace & Grease, Dennis

So someone left behind safety bifocals and they certainly are nice safety glasses.
