Garage time at last
« on: November 19, 2018, 05:16:32 PM »
I finally got to spend a weekend in my lovely heated garage while my wife went deer hunting in the freezing cold.  My garage is a mess of my current projects.

First thing on the agenda was giving some love to my Chang Jiang.  I has been living outside and unrun for two years.

First thing to check for is spark.

After replacing the spark plug wires, and charging up a new battery I bought for the trike project, I got spark.  On to fuel.  I had emptied the gas tank and ran the carbs empty before I parked it last

It would run on ether.  I pulled the carbs.  Full of water.

After everything cleaned it started.  One blip of the throttle and the engine was revving full speed and not returning to idle.  Throttle cables rusted.  More work.

After adjusting the carbs, the Chang purrs like the kitten it always was.

Peace & Grease, Dennis
