Excellent.
This is how I got into vintage bikes. I am not a restorer per se. I like building custom bikes. While working on an old CB350 in my driveway 12 years ago, Club member Guy Hudson dropped by and chatted up my son about the Club. I attended a meeting and have been a member ever since.
Old bikes are the usual start for a custom build because I never want to hack up a perfectly good motorcycle. I start with junk. Check out some of my builds in the Complete Rebuilds section to see what I started with. My favorite was the Smithers XS650 Bobber which started with a real pile of crap that I got for a bottle of rum.
If the time comes when you or your buddies need some frame modifications, get a hold of me. While my shop is currently in disarray and crowded, with a little planning and advance notice, I can help.
Peace & Grease, Dennis.
