Gotta love Dime City Cycles
« on: March 02, 2017, 10:39:33 AM »
I've bought lots of parts from Dime City Cycles since discovering them a few years ago.  I am on their mailing list and recently received a notice about a sale on engine and transmission parts.  Since I'd rather look at motorcycle stuff than work, I scrolled through their latest offerings.  They have a big bore kit for xs650s and I was curious and checked the description.  You should have a read of the description.

Good marketing in my opinion.

Made me laugh-been there done that. I bought a 650 with that bore kit in it along with a megacycles cam and it went like a raped ape, price on it is less now then it was then. If you're at all tempted buy it! CHEERS.

My thoughts are some of the Brethren may have skipped checking the "Description" because they're not that interested in an xs650 big bore kit, I thought I'd cut and paste for easy review.  Usually a "description" would be specs.  This is what they have to describe the big bore kit.

Description

Heading south on 27 after two cups of bad coffee in Amarillo, you find 70mph to be the sweet spot and you lean back against your bedroll. With about thirty miles to go you realize that in about half an hour you'll be face to face with your high school sweetheart. It has been fifteen years, and finding her on Facebook brought back a flood of memories, including the night the two of you went skinny-dipping at the lake and were just a little surprised when her dad rolled up in his El Camino.

Pulling into Lubbock you quickly remember why you moved to Austin after graduation, but rather than dwell on the negative you get off your bike and walk into Rosie's Diner. Before the bell on the door stops ringing Susie has jumped up and wrapped her legs around you.

Once she calmed down, took off her work clothes and picked up her tip from the corner booth, the two of you got on your bike and headed to the motel...Originally you thought that might take a little grease, but you quickly realized she had the same idea.

The next morning you woke to find a note on the bathroom mirror, "Gone to work, see ya later"

Being the gentleman you are, though, and realizing you needed some breakfast anyway, you decided to swing by the diner. As you rolled into the parking lot, however, you quickly recognized Suzie arguing with a tall, stocky guy in overalls. Getting closer she immediately started waving you off...'Not good' you thought.

Nope, not good, and before you knew it 'Overalls' was running for his F150. Never having been accused of missing the obvious, you downshifted and cracked the throttle open. Hitting the highway you glanced back and realized a few things: Facebook is dangerous, the big bore kit was more than worth the price, and Suzie hadn't changed at all.

hahahahaha.

I saw an XS650 or two lying in the snow at Jims this weekend.  Maybe he'll sell one to anyone who's still looking to connect with their Suzy.
