Picked it up from Robb this morning.  Looks like a good beast.  Stuck a new cheap CT battery into it, though it doesn't need it to fire up.  Added some gas and everything seemed gas tight.  Kicked and kicked it, then kicked it some more.  Stopped and thought a bit.  Was trying to start the kick just past the compression stroke, but it didn't seem like it got to the next compression stroke with the kick.  So, fed another half kick into it and "Blam", up and running.  Idle was set really high, so lowered that down to reasonable.  It settled in, a bit of smoke at first but then cleared right out.  Can start it in one or two kicks now. One bit of trouble, it eats headlight bulbs.  It has a separate AC circuit off the stator for headlights, so likely one of 2 things.  The AC regulator is fried or there is a short. I'll track that down tomorrow.  Looks like a good fun project.  Need to source taillight and licence plate bracket.

I live with fear and danger everyday, but sometimes I leave her at home and go motorcycling.
