I suspect your are correct that it is a bit early.  Especially for something like a Victory or equivilant.  I could understand something smaller and lighter this early in the season.  Just too much gravel etc on the road.  Drove up Cowart the other day and the sun was shining and it was warm.  Saw a car parked on the side of the road at the first turn up by Telus and wondered what is he doing there.  I soon found out as it was slippery as hell, just managed to control the car and not join the other vehicle on the  side of the road.  It would have been messy.  I will wait until the roads are cleared.

saw a bike on the highway coming thru Vanderhoof on Sunday, I think it was a Hardley.....and today was and still is quite warm out here in Vanderhoof....+8c at present and sunny so about an hour ago I pulled my bike out of the garage and did a few loops around the neighbour hood.....just have to watch out for sand or gravel and I know it is very early to think spring is on it's way , but I do think winter is over (warmest winter I can remember)

I took my XS 650 chopper for her first real maiden voyage last week down my dirt road.  it was icy, muddy and I had to clean my shorts after!  Lessons learned were......I need a new chain, should have tightened my rear tail light before it fell off, need new carb jetting as it pops and farts wayyyyy too much, i have a loose conection somewhere in the headlight assembly even though I have re-wired it twice to remedy the lights cutting out.  The bike is generally a death trap and 50km/hr felt more like 150km/hr.  MAN DOES IT LOOK COOL THOUGH!.  Take home message is that a stretched out hard tail is not a dirt bike!  even more is that driving said vehicle in the dark on bad dirt roads (oh ya I didnt mention the potholes!) is not a good idea at 9pm on a saturday in feb.
Thank god Im crazy otherwise I may have done some damage!

All this being said, I have noticed a few of the more adventurouse boys in town out on my highway for little joy rides.  I am jelouse and still waiting for my top end to the BSA so I can finish her up. Not that I am crazy enough to drive here under the current conditions.

yeah, he rode to last Tuesday's movie night.  Luckily he has a snow tire on the back of that thing.
I live with fear and danger everyday, but sometimes I leave her at home and go motorcycling.
