Side car body, junk you have or know about
« on: June 19, 2014, 05:17:16 PM »

I am thinking about building a sidecar.  I have the skills and tools to build the frame, but my sheet metal skills are yet to be developed.  I quick google of homemade sidecars comes up with some pretty bizarre contraptions.   You never know what someone else might have in a shed/barn/field that might be pressed into service.

Old water tanks? Bumper car? float plane pontoon?  automotive body panels?  Any ideas of stuff you have, or stuff you know someone else has that may be interesting would be cool to hear about.

Peace & Grease, Dennis

I have built a couple true hacks....i have been researching some nice designs though.  If you are looking for a fun hack that doesnt have to be prety, the possibilities are endless.  I think the details must be carefully discussed ove a botle of whiskey

I could probably locate a few old scud missile bodies for you Dennis.

Might be a little tricky trying to get them through Customs though.  :-\

Why be normal?

There are some pretty great ideas on here. The whole wheelchair accessible side car is not very cool looking but would be a hoot to have the ability to take.

From what I have seen, the best idea really is a bumper car side car.
