Groovy Merchandise
« on: May 09, 2014, 12:39:09 PM »

Guy Hudson has scoped out some prices on some good quality folding lawn chairs with our Club logo.  We can get 24 for just this side of $1200 which means they would have to be sold for $50 a pop.  I bit pricy when you can go to Surplus Herpies, Canuck Tire, Costlow, Missed Target or other discount stores and buy a bargain basement one for $19.99

However, as can be seen by the picture, these are much nicer.  Guys says that the company insists on sending out a sample for approval before they will fill an order, so he has one coming.   The picture is a blue one, but they have other colour options.

The risk is that we buy a bunch of chairs that at $50, don't get sold.  These are not likely to be big sellers with the "passing by" crowd who snap up our T-shirts and caps.  I believe they can be sold, and have told Guy I am prepared to underwrite this, but I still would like to hedge my bets with an informal poll.

Who'd be interested? I'm in for at least two.

Peace & Grease, Dennis

Two for me, please.

Blue is okay, but I'd be interested to know other colour availability.

I'd go for 2
I live with fear and danger everyday, but sometimes I leave her at home and go motorcycling.

I'm definitely not going to buy any chairs - but I would point out how snappy the big banner we had at the mall looked, and how nicely red and black chairs would go with that at the Father's Day Show n' Shine... next year?

They probably will look cool with the logo,  but 50 bucks a chair is a bit pricey.  Yeah they are customized for us,  but  chairs get damaged easy..

This item was brought forward by a club member a few meetings back for discussion, so thought i would at least check.
i would say that if we can not get enough support to make close to the original amout back, we will scrap this idea.
another option is to cut your club logo off that ratty old Tee shirt you were going to make into a rag and sew it onto your most comfy chair???

Is there any reason up the creek couldn't embroider our logo on a 10 dollar chair from stupid store? just a thought. Bought one to take to Likely, sat in it for a total of about 15 mins. Been back in the bag ever since. CHEERS.
