Wow. What a great adventure.
A few years ago, my son and I drove to Inuvik via Fort Nelson on the way up and Hwy 37 (Cassiar) on the way back down. We went in my Jeep which was not nearly as adventuresome as taking a motorcycle, but it was still fairly minimalist (basic camping gear ... and a shot gun). While in Inuvik, we took a charter flight up to Tuktoyuktuk and waded in the Arctic Ocean.
Last month the Feds announced they are going to build a summer road to Tuk. Currently there is only the ice road in the winter which is made seasonally on the Mackenzie River ice.
I have never taken an adventure motorcycle trip (unless you call riding a rigid framed chopper to San Francisco an adventure), but ever since the announcement of the highway to Tuk, I have put it on my bucket list.
