spark problems
« on: September 08, 2013, 05:30:43 PM »
I had an issue with the Goldwing in that there was not spark to the plugs or points.  Had Ted over and we went over the ignition system and did not find any problems.  After taking it apart and checking the coils etc we put it back together and go it started but it was rough.  I just got around checking it again and it seems only the 1 and 2 spark plugs were firing.  I checked the points again and only 1 of the 2 is showing spark.  So is it the coils even though they checked out when we took them out or is it the points.  Or maybe something else.  I am not an expert with ignition systems and even less with Goldwings. Where should I go from here.  New coils or what?

Probably points and condensers or for a little more electronic ignition. CHEERS.

Sounds like an excuse for a tech night.
I live with fear and danger everyday, but sometimes I leave her at home and go motorcycling.
