Hixon Show and Shine
« on: August 16, 2013, 09:58:01 AM »
I have heard that the Quesnel car club, (not Prospectors, but the other one) is holding the annual Hixon Show and Shine this Sunday and have extended a welcome to all bikes, with trophys for different classes of bike.
Not sure the time but would say 11am in Hixon would work, anyone up for the ride? Kaziff

I'd love to go, but I have a fishing trip planned.

I will be going but will be traveling with Robbyn and Ardea.  May have to leave early as Robbyn has to be at work by 1:30

Well I wussed out.  A bit too damp for me so drove in a well protected cage to the show and shine.  Good turnout though and the British Club put out an excellant display of bikes for it.

Good to see it still going! Didn't want to use up brownie points to get wet. Actually judged the motorcycle classes there for 2 years. Kurt Van Derlans won there as did Guy Hudson. Got one myself the last year I went, was with Stu, hungover from the Allwynn ride. Split a six-pack and it was all good. Kurt sold a crapload of tickets on the R-5 there the year we raffled it. Always been a good event-too bad it had to rain on the new organizers, this is typically a sunny event. Kudos to the Brit' club for braving the elements. CHEERS.

My wife and I drove there just after noon.  Went through several km of pelting rain, about as bad as it gets with wipers unable to keep up, zero visibility when that  big truck goes by.  Once there just light drops then sunshine at the end.  It was a nice afternoon, glad we went.  You riders from PG missed that big rain and that is a good thing.  It was nasty stuff.
