okay .. this is a small vent... i pick up my newly paint fuel tank and side panels tomorrow, got all my parts for it.. so i can insure it and ride it !!!

or so i thought... go to start re-assembling the petcock rebuild parts i ordered from "some store in town" .. ask .. do i need anything else on that? just the diaphragm and the rubber washer on the other side right? "yes that's all you need" okay order that stuff up... get the parts.. im looking at it.. thinking naw there has to be something else.

I look at a diagram today ( i assume same diagram parts person looked at ) and i need a freakin spring !!! OMGoogle.. i cant ride my bike because of a lil $3.00 dollar spring that goes between the diaphragm... RAGGGGEEEEEEE !!!

Edit: I called up the store, and asked for them to order me a spring, cause i need it... what luck ! they have some in stock, and I dont have to special order it ! Rage over.. i can ride starting tomorrow :)

Most parts persons aren't mechanics. That's why I was so good at it. Do your homework when ordering parts, then you have only yourself to blame if something gets missed. Bikebandit is a great resource as they have the factory e-imagery. What happened to the old spring?? NEVER throw away old parts before installing the new ones. Drop by and I will fine tune the steering head for you--would like to see her done! CHEERS.

Well that's the thing there wasn't one in there ...so buddy must have taken it apart and didn't put one back. I remember parker saying "doesn't it have a spring" when we took it apart...either way I'll grab one tomorrow, as they are in stock so its not a special order.

Thanks for the continued offer to loosen the head...once she is on the road I will swing by. Besides everyone is gunna wanna ride our brand new bike lol ....

Im telling ya... im not meant to ride this freakin bike.... omgoogle !!!!

I replaced all the parts in the petcock, and the freakin thing still dumps/pisses gas everywhere. It just wont shut off... now i gotta find a new petcock... the one i ordered from Z1 that i thought would fit.. didnt, so parker has inherited a brand new spare in case his ever goes...

Cyclenorth and their "i cant give out part numbers" pissed me off, so i don't want to buy anything else from them ever ! I just spend over 100 dollars there this week, getting parts, and spent over 500 in labor and parts getting my tires put on last fall....

Even though I can find the number on the internet, your not going to support your own community ??? well.. a big F you !!!

So now im on the hunt for a petcock that wont cost me 90 dollars... ugggggggg

Oh and in case ANYONE wants to know the part number for a 81-83 KZ750 Petcock its Kawasaki Part number : 51023-1384 cause cycle north sure as hell wont give it to you if you ask

Jeremy, bring me your pissing petcock and leave it for the afternoon. Bring your old parts as well-between that and my tickle trunk I'll see what can be done. Don't want you to ruin that new paint. Need some computer help anyway.CHEERS.

It's on the seat of your bike dude--screws on the front plate were about a third the length they should have been so I changed them, now they're tight. Removed the o-ring and installed  the spring washer, a little re-alignment on the pump. Bench tested fine. Might want to use a LITTLE bit of sealer between the tank and petcock. CHEERS.

Aha, they say plastic will replace cash transactions!
They are wrong!!
Bartering (the exchange of goods and services instead of cash) is the successful revived method of peons.
