I have to confess that when Brandan Jensen said he wanted to build a bike from an xs750 I tried to dissuade him. They are not common platforms for custom bikes. However, he came by the shop and showed me his new prize. We spent some time leafing through old Back Street Heroes magazines (UK publication) looking for photos of shaft drive choppers and bobbers. The Brits chop everything. We didn't find as many as hoped, but he is off to search the Web for inspiration. I know from my own experience with the GS650 that there are many shaft driven custom fabbed bikes out there. I kinda like this one.
He already has some cool ideas from his car craft days. Rather than trying to find a triple bank of Mikunis, he is thinking of making a three into one manifold and running a single carb. His imagination is churning which is what bike building is all about.
Fast One, did you say Honest Roy has a frame? I can help get it registered if Brandan can scoop it. A stock frame certainly helps with engine mounting, fork fitment, rear wheel drive, and most importantly, getting it registered without having to go through the whole inspection torture.
