I have a perfectly good universal windshield with the mounting hardware.  It doesn't even look scratched.  Free to anyone who wants it before I take it to the swap shed.

I also have some rigid Honda panniers and a rack that used to be on my GS650 (the rack holds the panniers).  They are totally functional but not pristine.

Hey Dennis, Leanne was interested in a Harley windshield I got with a bunch of Guzzi stuff, but it is a poor fit with her mid-glide 35mm forks - I'd be interested in having a look at the windshield and seeing if it would fit her bike.

                                                                                       12 hrs later...

Okay, now these are at my place - the windshield is a large Sihlouette type,  the elaborately shaped ones.  The bags,  on the other hand, are the very small '70's top-loading kind - they would seem at home on a bike of about 350cc or so.  I may try to cut a usable windshield out of the extant giant unit for Leanne's bike when she gets back in a week or so to say yes or no to the idea...  Guy will want to look at the bags, but will then reject them for being too small.  Hans, who is also thinking about hard bags, will reject them on every count; they are too small, they look like the product of another time, and they say HONDA on them.  He won't like anything about them.  After these two have delivered their expected judgements the bags will be available for anyone planning a RD250-based super-turnpike-blaster micro-touring bike to have a look at.

Could I have a look at the panniers?
Thinking they might be the thing for my little 400, since I pack light, and all...
could someone post a picture?

Yup, good fitment on a CB400, though no doubt the tube-frame mounts will require some modification.  I will try to get a pic taken and posted tonight.

                                                                        12 hrs later

Okay - these are the aforementioned bags... the mounts will require a good deal of revision.

Thanks for the photos!

If nobody's made a move on the panniers yet... what's being asked for them?
I get my dad (who's in PG) to pick them up for me, or I can come by with $ when I'm in town (looks like the beginning of Sept.).

Lookin' like a good fit to me,

Unless Russel wants a handling fee, they're free.

If Guy and Hans have had a look and turned them down, I'll hook up with Russel and see bout that handling fee...

Actually, neither toubled themselves - all yours, natch, gratis.  Whatever arrangements work for you, go ahead and make.  Mike McLintock brought me another windshield that somebody had already started to cut up, so if anyone needs a (big) windshield...  Isn't Guy heading to Smithers tomorrow with his van?

Works for me Guy, let me know when or just put them in the yard if I'm not home. Would hope you can drop by for a visit if you are this close. I work till 3 PM Friday and Saturday and will be around Sunday afternoon as well. If you don't have my number it's 250-847-6676. I might not answer if I don't know the number but just leave a message. Also to Peggy-Sue, I can keep them for you here until you can get to Smithers or get someone else to pick them up. Whatever works is fine with me, the number and info are the same. Looking forward to seeing both of you if possible. Take Care.

  Later, Bob

Thanks a bunch, guys!

I won't be in PG until the beginning of September, and can pick them up in Smithers on my way thru, if that works for you?
Will give you a call the night before I leave, Bob. Thanks for holding onto these for me (they're gonna look SO good on the bike!).

Cheers,
Peg

Mmm, well, Guy left for Smithers this am without your bags; in the vacuum, we let the plan revert to your original iteration - that we would drop them at your father's place and you would pick them up at your leisure.

Thank you, that would be lovely...

Do you know where the farm is? Fast1 does, it's just off Queensway by the slough (2121).
Rough driveway, honk at the gate if it's closed or call ahead if you like (Ed or Lynn at 614-1877).

Can I still visit on the long weekend, on my way thru Smithers?
