How fast

have you gone? My personal best on a bike was a gsx-r 1000 at 280 km. Fastest in a car was a Pontiac gtp at 190- that's when the speed limiter kicks in. For the record neither belonged to me.

I live with fear and danger everyday, but sometimes I leave her at home and go motorcycling.

When I was a kid, I had my Nova up to 140MPH - street cars are not meant for that speed. On a bike, my personal protection limiter kicks in before that.

In 1979 I knew a guy who knew a guy .... He had a Toyota Crown with some American V8 swapped in.  You have to remember that back in the 70's if a teenager had a hot car, chances were that it was jacked up at the back with great big meats on it.  That's what this car was like ... over-sized V8 in a small car with a jacked up rear end.

He took me for a "show off" ride and the speedometer said 140 mph (still miles back then).  There could have been some error because of the engine/tranny swap but it was definitely the fastest I ever went.  The scariest was at the end of the straightaway when he let off the gas ... with the short wheel base and jacked up rear end we weaved from shoulder to shoulder.

I did about a 115 mph on my old Ironhead in 1981.

Ever since the 80's I drive like an old lady.  I'm okay with that.

Peace & longevity, Dennis

On my bike about 200 km or so.  My last Camaro went 243km GPS verified, which I video taped as well...I like proof of stuff like this.  (that on a very long local road with no traffic or driveways)  That was when I was young and foolish, about 54.  I do not believe most high speed claims not verified by GPS.
Most speedos read high and there is the BS factor as well.....Remember those old wide speedometers where the needle would bounce a bit at the high end....if it bounced to the 120mph part then I did 120mph.....
