Excellent.

This is how I got into vintage bikes.  I am not a restorer per se.  I like building custom bikes.  While working on an old CB350 in my driveway 12 years ago, Club member Guy Hudson dropped by and chatted up my son about the Club.  I attended a meeting and have been a member ever since.

Old bikes are the usual start for a custom build because I never want to hack up a perfectly good motorcycle.  I start with junk.  Check out some of my builds in the Complete Rebuilds section to see what I started with.  My favorite was the Smithers XS650 Bobber which started with a real pile of crap that I got for a bottle of rum.

If the time comes when you or your buddies need some frame modifications, get a hold of me.  While my shop is currently in disarray and crowded, with a little planning and advance notice, I can help.

Peace & Grease, Dennis.

I like your style Dennis. I customize everything. My worst nightmare is going out to my driveway to find a stock civic or something. The one and only time I have ever bought a car from a dealer was my Chrysler 300. I only did that after much nagging from my wife after the engine in her Audi blew. Within hours of signing the paper work it was at my shop getting badges ripped off and changing wheels. I've had it 4 years now and the dealership that sold it to me wouldn't even recognize it anymore. lol.

I truly appreciate the talent that you guys have to offer.  I am not yet at the point of extreme modifying/customizing my bikes. Chopping frames kinda scares me as I just do not have the tools, expertise or the space required.  Good on you; I envy your aptitude.
Keep having fun!

don't be scared dean, it's only steel. what's the worst that can happen? It's only when we push ourselves past our comfort zone that we truly discover what we are capable of. I say fuck baby steps, jump in with both feet.
