First ride

Today bailing out someone who got busted with no class 6 license. Just the other side of Tabor mountain out to the Hart near the shopping center. Newish Heritage softtail, fuel injected 106 with mini apes and a windshield. Turns out a fat 16 inch front tire with a windshield and mini apes in a sharp corner with a cross wind causes a vicious steering wobble! Good thing there was no oncoming traffic, was almost on the opposite shoulder before it straightened out. Who ever invented that riding position should be shot. The exact opposite of comfortable and in control. Tank mounted speedo and fullface helmet are also not a good combo, might as well be texting. 5 gallon tank does however give one the ability to travel from Mcbride to the Hart without refuelling. Did get a ride in and even with clouds in the sky and snow in the ditches it really wasn't that cold so what the hey. CHEERS.

What I seem to be reading here is that you took an unfamiliar bike, too fast into a corner and got into trouble... right?  It certainly wasn't the fault of the bike, unless there is a mechanical issue of some sort.  After all it would appear that the owner rode it from McBride to where you picked it up.You are lucky someone wasn't coming as well as equally lucky that there was no sand/ice on the road, which could have put you in the ditch.

This little event should serve as a bit of a warning to all of us who ride different styles of bikes. They all have different handling characteristics, as well as braking and acceleration  abilities.  So take it easy until you are used to the bike. After all it is still early spring.

At least that is the way I see it.
