I have attached a pdf with all of the details about the Motorcycle Awareness Show 'n Shine at Pine Centre, and a pdf of the floor plan layout (see below)
I will continue with posts encouraging members to bring out bikes. We want a strong showing. We won three trophies last year.

Now that the information is up, lets work on our roster. While I am looking for commitments, at this point some members may still have logistics, ie bikes they'd like to show, but are uninsured and can't be ridden to the show.
I would like to hear who have trucks/trailers and would be willing to transport a bike to and from. We are only allowed to haul bikes in between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. on the Thursday night, and they have to stay until 6:00 p.m on the Saturday.
What I think would help is if we had some members who could "stand guard" at the Mall parking lot while we collect up the bikes that have to be transported. Between "Transporters" and "Guards" we should be able to get our bikes together in one place outside the Mall, and then push them in during the one hour window they have permitted. This will permit members to help bring in bikes, without worrying about leaving their bike in the parking lot while they help collect up others.
For example, I would like to put my BMW R65 in the show, I have a trailer which only carries one bike at a time (and I am taking another bike on the trailer), and riding one, so I would like to haul one down on the trailer, leave it with trusted guards, go and get the next bike, leave it with trusted guards, and then go get my rider.
I plan to bring: 1981 GS650 Mono Shock Conversion and 1981 BMW R65 for our display, and flat tracker for flat track display.
I am working on Russell Parker to haul in a bike (or two?) from Steve Crout. Russell also has his beautiful sportster caf? racer which really should be shown off. Russell will need a hand if he is going to commit to this much work.
Riding in is easy. Let us know by responding whether you have a rider to bring and show, or a trailer queen needing courtiers, or if you can assist with being a guard or a transporter.

Gonna bring the chopper for sure. Have a trailer if needed. CHEERS.

The whole point of the Motorcycle Awareness show is to let people know we are back out there. So look in your mirror. If it saves even one life it's worth it. Some support! CHEERS.

This is the current roster. I will use the "modify" feature to update this as we go along. The Pine Centre floor plan map (see pdf attachment above) allocates us space for 12 bikes, so that's our goal. If your name and bike is on the roster, that means you can expect a phone call or personal message reminding you that you are officially guilt tripped into making sure your bike is on display. If you see your name and bike on the roster and you did not commit, let me know and I will modify the list. Similarly, if something comes up between now and then and you will not be able to go, let me know. No for sure back ups. If you are not on the list, and wanted to be, I can pull one of mine guilt free.
Dennis: 1981 GS650 Suzuki (mono shock caf? racer)
Hans: either his 400 Suzuki or his Yamaha 100
Neal: 400 Suzuki
Guy: either his BSA A10 or B31
Wayne (Fast 1): Kawasaki Chopper
Steve Crout: at least one British bike (whichever is easiest to remove from his garage)
Charlie: 70's Ducati
Russell: caf? Sportster
Bulldog: daughter's little Honda
Ted: 1977 CB550
Dave Blagdon: CCM motorized bicycle (he's says maybe ...)
Steve: 1987 K model BMW
That's 12 bikes so far (if counting Dave's CCM) I think we should be fine (provided everyone brings what they have committed to). There is actually more space around the corner if between us, the British Only Club, and the Flat Track display there is overwhelming support.

My trusted assistant Samantha made up some cool cards we can attach to our bikes. I will print these out on light cardboard and have them available for whoever brings a bike. Open the pdf attachment for a look.

Awesome Dennis, much better than the ones I did last year. Maybe we could get some more for the fathers day show and shine? Thank Sam for us too! CHEERS.

With the latest commitments we have 11 bikes (see above as modified today). I'm leaving one spot in case someone wants to display a bike and they are not following the forum.
Next up is getting a "feel" for who can help set up and take down. Russell has our table and banner at his shop. Russell is also committing to transporting two bikes (Steve Crout's and his caf? Sportster). Can someone who is driving a van or pick-up be responsible for our table and banner? They have tables at the Mall, but the one at Russell's shop has our banner rather permanently affixed.
I do not think we need to work out a schedule for hanging out at the Mall during show. This has never been a problem before. I will be there at the start of Friday morning.

I realize the Show is still a week away, but I don't want anyone stranded at the last minute.
Ted needs transport for his 1977 CB550.

I will also be there at 9:00 A.M. Friday morning and will do my part for Friday........see you then........no bike Mike

That would be awesome Dave. I may be the first to have to waffle on my commitments.

Down one bike (see roster above). I committed my BMW to my nephew for his road test. I did not realize it was on the Friday.
Anyone able to fill the void?

I can monitor the bikes on Thursday night.
My bike can go in the display but remember it is not ancient (only a 1987 model) and it is "K" series not "R" series.

K models are great. A 1987 means its 26 years old. That is old enough. Now you are officially guilt tripped in.
This display is about our club and making people aware that it is riding season. I am glad you are in.

Dennis - you are welcome to take a second bike from the garage.

Latest news. Bruce Barry says that there should be plenty of stanchions if we, the flat track display, and the British Only Club end up with more bikes than anticipated. There is extra space around the corner for us.
If you want to show off a bike and you are not on the roster, feel free to bring it anyways.
I can also bring an intermediate ramp. It is a steel bench about 1.5 feet high with a good ramp from there to the ground, or from there to your truck/trailer. I know Russell was worried about unloading from the back of his truck because of its height.
I should be arriving at the back of the Mall by 7:30 with the first of my bikes. Anyone who will volunteer as a guard for my bike and anyone else moving several bikes (Russell) would be greatly appreciated.
Peace & Participation, Dennis

Mine is still broken so I will be pushing again. Will try to get there early and help out. CHEERS.

Stopped by the mall today, or rather drove in from Vanderhoof to oggle the bikes ;D. The display looked great. Lots of vintage bikes there.
I enjoyed chatting with Ted about his plans for the CB550 Super Sport. I wish I could have brought my CB750F in this weekend, but family commitments prevented it. On the bright side, my 16 month old daughter enjoyed the bikes at the mall (even if did keep daddy from really checking out the displays...lol). She eagerly pointed out each set of bikes as we strolled. I'm looking forward to bringing her in again tomorrow, too.
The British Bike Club also did a great job, mustering a bunch of Limey iron. I know a lot of the fellows are here at the PGVMC too, so kudos to them! The Flat Trackers were also well represented... I hope they stir up some interest. Great to see this idea comming to fruit.
If you haven't had a chance to get out, better swing by there tomorrow.

Could be my lack of interest in larger/newer bikes but the vintage and british displays looked really good compared to the others. A great variety of machines!
Thanks to the guys who manned the booths and were so friendly to passers by.

It was a great turn out by the PGVMC and the PGBMC.

I agree, Dennis, it was a very good turnout for the PGVMC. And, because we contributed to the PGBMC?s outstanding display, I think we can feel good about their success as well ? at least I do ? we?re all part of the PG motorcycling community.
I see my '77 CB550 front and center in your first picture. Funny how they always look so much better through the lens of a camera than in reality.
All in all, with the Awareness Show, the fair weather and Charlie and Betsy?s excellent Shelley Shindig, it has been one of my more enjoyable weekends for some time.
My thanks to all who made it possible.
Ted
