A fellow dropped by my shop the other afternoon after driving by and seeing my assemblage of old junk parked outside.  He figured I was just the guy to unload his unwanted motorcycles on (as if it did not appear that I already have more junk than I can work on).  In any event, I took his name and number and told him I would pass on the information.

They are both mid 70's Hondas.  They are both fairly complete, apparently missing only a side panel or two. They've been parked for years so the carbs are gummed up and they will no doubt have all the other gremlins associated with old bikes parked for years.

Neither bike has papers.

He is asking $550 for the pair.

I am thinking of calling this fellow this evening and arranging to have a look at them.  If I do, I will report my impressions in a reply to this post.

One man's treasure is another man's junk.

My opinion is scewed.  I have become the "cat lady" of old bikes.   My last three bike acquisitions were freebees.  The donors (Shep, Fast One, and an old high school buddy) basically wanted their junk our of their garages and knew that I was likely to give them a good home.  I will rebuild/chop or otherwise use all good parts of which I am a beneficiary.

Considering the above disqualification, the two bikes I looked at tonight are in SERIOUS need of attention.  I would take them as freebees, but I would not pay a dime for them.

Other members may be interested in these bikes, and actually exchanging hard earned cash for them.  I invited the owner to forward me pictures and promised I would post them.  I did give him the heads up that he was probably better off selling them on Craigslist or the Bargain Finder, because although the PGVMCC is into old bikes, we are a bunch of cheap skates (I think I actually said "discriminating purchasers").
