Wayne's Memorial Ride
« on: August 19, 2018, 05:03:46 PM »
We will meet at the Salvation Army Church Parking Lot (777 Ospika Blvd.) at 2:45 Saturday August 25th.
We will leave the parking lot at 3:00.
We will proceed to Lorne Crescent (Wayne and Donna's home) for a drive-by before heading out to Ferndale via Hwy. 97 South, Boundary Road, Giscome Road then on to Ferndale Community Hall at 3595 Upper Fraser Road arriving just before 4:00 p.m.
Wayne's son Chris will follow the riders in Wayne's Miata.
It would be helpful to know how many expect to be participating in the memorial ride.
Thanks
Shep

I will be there unless something serious happens between now and then, I plan to ride to P.G. on Friday and head home Sunday. Although I haven?t been close to Wayne for many years I knew him and some of his circle of people more than 30 years ago and always considered him a good person and a friend. Now that I have the time and opportunity it would be nice to be able to show my respect by being there.
Later, Bob

Here is the planned route.  I'm taking on the road captain duties.  There are a few traffic lights to get through.

I plan on stopping three times, once near Waynes house and then just beyond the turnoff onto Boundary road and then at the end of Giscome Road to get everyone caught up. We'll have a quick tailgate meeting before we get going so that everyone understands the route.
I live with fear and danger everyday, but sometimes I leave her at home and go motorcycling.

Hello, for those of you who don't know me, I am Wayne's son. I'm joining you gentlemen for this ride in waynes car. I would love to do it on his bike but I am not licensed yet. I did decide however that since I inherited his bike that it should stay with the club. So if you'll have me, I'd like to become a member.

Hi, Barry McKinnon from Chetwynd here. I have just received permission from the family to ride Waynes blue bike in the procession. I will be coming down Friday night and staying till Sunday. I met Wayne 35 years ago and after selling me my first bike, an RD350, we became close friends. For 35 years we shared everything, good times and bad, so it would be my honour to ride his bike on Saturday.

Thank you to all the organizers for putting on my mentors last ride.

Hi Barry...  not sure that Wayne's bike has been run this year at all, so give yourself a bit of time to get it going.

As Bob from Smithers is bunking at my place over the weekend, though if weather co-operates we could have a get together at my place on Saturday evening, show up around 7 for a brew and some BS, I can have the Barbie ready if anyone would like to cook. let me know if that is preferred and I will arrange some salads and fixins.

At Wayne's Celebration of Life at the Ferndale Hall, his wife Donna) would be pleased to hear stories recalling Wayne's enjoyment of motorcycles and the help he has given many of us over the past years.

The ride went great! thanks so much for letting me be a part of it. Also if there is any way to get more patches made, my mom a d a few other family members would like one.
