A few years back, Rolling Stone Magazine asked a bunch of recording artists to make a list of the most influential songs of the last 1000 years. Richard Thompson was the only one who responded. But by then Rolling Stone had lost interest in that project. Richard decided, hell, I can make an album out of this, well not all of them, but a select few.
