Carb stix
« on: May 11, 2014, 11:10:19 PM »
Hi all.  I need to sync the carbs on the Blue Meanie at some point in the near future.  Anyone have a set of carb stix for lease?

Jet kit is in the Blue Meanie.  Now needs a sync, but.....  the jet kit is supposed to use a K&N for best effect, and it won't arrive until next week.  Should I not bother until I get that in?

Yeah I would wait,  since that will change everything again.  You will end up really syncing after the Jets.

The air filter is actually the only thing you are changing that would affect the sync. Remember, this is an idle only adjustment--I funk mine on purpose to get a brappier idle sound. That being said not only do I have a set of stix I have Stu's as well, sure he would not mind if I gave them to you. The carb that the cable goes to is your base, work out from there. CHEERS.

Well, I can say this jet kit made a monster difference.  Feels way smoother, got rid of the bit of surging it had at neutral throttle.  And then there is the top end.... wow.  The old jet kit used to cause a problem above 9500 rpm, this now pulls friggin' hard all the way to redline.  The idle is a little rough but it picks up smoothly from there.  I'll wait to get the K&N next week and then do the rest of the tuneup.  Thanks for the offer Wayne, that'd be cool.
