2nd Annual Tune Up Weekend-Sept 20-22 2013
« on: May 24, 2013, 11:45:43 AM »
Being the Program Director at my work I can pretty much put on whatever events I want. Last year I started a camp for dudes to come and work on their machines.

Save Sept 20-22 2013 on your calendar.

Last year I got a dragging brake fixed and got the work started on my now finished cafe project. Ben hard tailed his cx500 as well as a guy who just rebuilt chainsaws and lots of other random work. Our shop in enormous and can handle around 50 machines being worked on!

WE ARE OFFERING PICK-UP OF MACHINES THIS YEAR. We are going to organize our truck and long trailer to meet somewhere intown and get loaded up with machines and we will take them to our shop.

We have heated cabins that are modern and quite nice. You can spend the whole weekend in the shop or take in some of the great activities that the camp offers as well.

Here is the write up off of our website.

This is a chance to get your unfinished projects completed. Work on your motorcycle, snowmobile, quad, lawn mover, weed whacker,  or whatever else you need to get done. We will provide our shop (limited use of tools)so we can work no matter what the weather. Some experienced mechanics are going to spend part of the weekend with us to answer questions and give tips as we work. Bring your own hand tools, parts and whatever else you may need and we will give you the place to work without interruption beside like-minded guys. A great place to learn some new skills as well!

We are renown for our great food and awesome activities. You will have free time to choose canoeing, jungle swinging, climbing wall, zipline, pool, foosball, archery and all the other things that make camp great.

Post if you have any questions. We are open to folks just coming out for a part of the weekend if that is all they can do. It will be around $90 taxes in for the whole weekend.

I plan to really start the ugly work on my bobber or redo the gaskets on my seca 750 this weekend.

You can register by calling our office at 250-612-4673 or give us a few weeks and we will have our online registration  info up at www.nlbc.bc.ca

Sounds like fun Dave, probably only make it out 1 day, teach instead of bring something. Want to try zipline and like climbing walls and archery. Can I bring my own bow? CHEERS.

If it's not a compound you can bring it. Be great to have you out.

Swore I would never fire a compound. I make my own. Build a riser then make limbs from cross country skis. Long bows from bamboo and 1 piece recurves from p.v.c. pipe. Some are simple and easy yet still make good starter bows. CHEERS.

that is awesome! We have our wilderness bush camp making their own bows this year and I am really blown away at how many cheap and great designs there are. The cross country ski ones must be impressive.

We just set-up a deal with Fast1 (wayne) where he is going to come out and give advice/help diagnose while we are working in the shop so bring those tough projects that you don't want to take on alone.

I would plan to be there Saturday, and it looks like things are flexible....Would staying over for just Friday night be OK also?  Not sure if I would do that, just asking.   I would plan on coming out and seeing what is being worked on, perhaps give a hand if needed.   What my bike needs done to it is a winter project.  :)

Sounds great Wayne, I will send you a message for sure. We have some guys from Quesnel coming with a VW beetle engine, a few of my bikes and a few other small engines.

IF folks can/only want to come for the saturday just shoot me a message or facebook me and we can work something out.

Last reminder, if you have some quirks on your bike that you wanted solved this is the perfect weekend.
We are serving 3 great meals and for those who want a break from working on their machines we will be opening up our climbing wall, jungle swing, zipline, canoes and more.
Having Wayne out will be the best time to get your bike diagnosed so you know where to start. Again we have a welder and lots of tools in our massive shop.
We can pick up and return your machine to you on a trailer if you message me as well.

Hope to see you there (If  you want to come for a few hours and just catch one meal just message me and we can work something out)

Got to cross zip lining off my bucket list, as well as playing on the archery range. Lunch was a build your own taco salad and was delicious. Thanks to Dave for being a great host. Call me if you need more help with that engine. CHEERS.

Came ready to give a hand, ended up taking photos of the main project.  Pretty simple operation of replacing head & barrel gaskets on a Honda 400.  Photos show how easy that can be.
