well -  as one who has just toured the area and seen more rain in the past 2 weeks think I have for a long time - I can only say I hope you brought the best of rain gear and a lightning rod as the thunder showers were accompanied by some spectacular lightning bolts.

Watch out in particular for the highways in Ontario if you are travelling back on Hwy 16.  there are some potholes big enough to swim around in on most parts of their highways.

I think you all have it wrong, the seat looks like a birthing chair.    You might be responsible for adding a new dimension to the phrase - "Born to ride"!

Just saw this post.  That will be quite a trip, good thing it will be on an inter-galatic bike.  I don't know why they just do not totally enclose them, add heaters, windshield wipers, etc.  The exhaust will be great for cleaning streets of dirt.  Enjoy your trip and may it be a safe one.

Have  a safe trip, and keep a sharp eye out for wildlife!!  Came literally within a couple of inches of a deer just north of stoner yesterday on the trip to the coast. As I looked in the rear view mirror he was just picking his hind end up off the hiway.

Greetings from the ferry to NFLD. NS was cool, spent some time with the new ride doing refits of sorts. change rear tire, remove non-weather friendly stereo, delete kenworth wanna-B exhaust extensions, disconect dental chair arms, service everything, scrub and polish, and of course drink copious amounts of barley flavoured water. had a nice little day and a half breakin trip. down to digby, visit, Yarmouth for the night, then onto lennenburg to see the marine museum. a few more tweaks, valve set.

ferry net service is very slow and timed.... To continue.. consumed a few more wobbly-pops. Helped my friend out here buy a motorcycle(kawasaki) and showed him how to clean carbs. then up to Bickerton for the weekend, sunday travel to cape breton via larry's river and board ferry on monday. tuesday will see us dock at Argentia and off to Saint John's.

Newfound land is an awsome place to visit.  I wished I had stayed there longer when I was there in 2008.  Just watch for those pesky moose running across the highways.  The pub scene in St. Johns is great with some great groups and music.  My daughter visits the pubs there frequently and tells us about the groups she sees.  Have a great trip and just watch some of the roads as they are a bit dicey at times.

Currently docking at north Sidney. The rock is behind me now, long road, lots of water, rain, fog, etc. Did not see any wildlife except seagulls. Tomorrow... Cabot trail starts.

I am following you on the map. After PEI if you aren't overly interested in going to Magnetic Hill then you can take the NB #15 and just before Moncton turn right and get on the NB #11 and head up the east coast of NB. At some point you will need to cut across to Edmundston unless you want to do the Gaspe Peninsula first. These roads are mainly two lane and can be quite busy.
The other option is to get back to the Trans Canada which is a separated four lane highway (and not very interesting) all the way to Edmunston at 110 to 120 km/h. I have not driven the portion from Woodstock NB to Edmundston but it is probably no different then the Moncton to Fredericton stretch.
In 110 km zones in NB the police do not seem to be that interested in you if you stay under 120 km/h.

The Cabot trail is behind me. Nice road with lots of twists, turns and hills... many spots for photo ops... spent last night in Truro at a friends house, then took the ferry to PEI. Spending the night at Cavendish then riding the island tomorrow.

I left the island a few days ago. rode straight through N.B. with an overnight rain avoidance move. the Gaspe' penisula was pretty awesome. it is a bit longish. but worth it. next i went to Old Quebec City. was a very good couple of days.. went sailing on a 33'yauht. way cool. attended a murder mistery dinner on a boat. we sailed the st. lawrence and everyone partook in the game of catch a murderer. it was cool. i have left Quebec and am in Maine. i will be headed for NY state . then north to Ottawa.

Yesterday was a bit of a marathon. Breakfast in Skowhegan Maine, lunch in Gorham New Hampshire, supper in South Hero Vermont, and slept in A usable forks New York..... long friggin day. Off to check out 'Lake Placid' this morning, will be on the lookout for giant Crocs.   Then head for Ottawa. me thinks they could use my help up there.
