On Saturday, March 12, between 12:00 noon and 4:00 p.m. all members are invited to drop by my garage to watch, criticize, assist or otherwise take part in my attempts at building a motorcycle frame from scratch. This is my drag bike frame. I have the rear axel plates and the neck tube jigged in place. I have 20' of 1"" and 20' of 1 1/4" seamless tubing. I have thought through the process, read tech pages and think I am ready to go. I have a badly drawn picture which is out of scale. I have no idea how far I will get. I have never done this before, and I do not know anyone else who has ever built a frame from scratch. This is an opportunity for me and club members to learn by trial and terror (I mean "error").
Noon is too early for me to drink beer so I won't be hosting much. Bring what you want. Greasy clothes and willingness to take part would be great.
Peace and Grease, Dennis.
