Tabor Mountain Dual Sport Exploration
« on: July 22, 2019, 02:55:30 PM »
I went on a great ride on Sunday on the XT350.

Years ago I rode my snowmobile to the top of Tabor Mountain where the radio towers are.  It was an easy ride up; followed a road from what I recall.

I rode all around the Tabor Lake area trying to find access.  I thought the Six Mile Lake Road was the route, but it abruptly ends with signs saying it is private property.

Anyone know the route?

Have to go in on the other end of the lake.  Go in on Groveburn Road, takes off due south just before the Ferndale Fire Department on the Old Giscome Road.
I live with fear and danger everyday, but sometimes I leave her at home and go motorcycling.

I was googling around after my post, and thought that might be the way.  There are a zillion traills maintained by the Tabor Mountain Recreation Society, and many of them I have driven my Jeep on.  However, other than my above mentioned snowmobile excursion years ago, I have not been to the towers since.

I may give it a try again this weekend (If I don't have to assist my wife pick up four goats from Quesnel .... yes "goats").  Any one interested in joining me?  ...  for the ride, not picking up goats.

Peace & Grease, Dennis
