I live with fear and danger everyday, but sometimes I leave her at home and go motorcycling.

Thanks Hans.
I was trying not to buy one for a one time job.
However, if I need to buy one I know that my pencil and paper store has them, which is odd I would venture to say!

Just a point of interest: The tool shown is an 8 point socket but is listed as a 6 point.!? Generic illustration I suppose.  I am aware that size socket is available in either 6 point or 8 point.

I don't have one, Steve, but there's a good chance I have used one over the years. What are you working on? My guess is a semi or full-floating rear axle on a light truck.

Have you checked the rental places? Probably cost almost as much as buying the tool :(

You may have to resort to more creative means to do the job if you're determined not to buy the socket.

If I can help, give me a call.

I have a 3/4 drive socket set that should have what you need-and an adapter to 1/2 should you need to use an impact. I'll look in the morning and call you. CHEERS.
