Eaglet lake

Heard paving rumors earlier this summer and decided to see if they were true today. About 11:00 a.m. I bundled up and hit the trail, stopped for gas and a sub (again) at the Eastway Esso then set off at a leisurely pace 'cause the faster you go the colder you get. Followed a dump truck with a pup trailer the last couple kms. Truck smelled of asphalt and then there were construction signs. From Willow river the road is all new till one corner away from Harold Mann park where I had to wait 15 minutes for a pilot car to take me around the corner. Ate my lunch while enjoying the view and fighting the urge to shiver. Warmed my gloves and hands where I heated my lunch---on my still warm engine then started back at a more brisk pace. Once you're really cold it doesn't really matter if it's colder. Arrived home in time for a long hot shower before picking up the kids from school. Signs say they should be done all the way to upper Fraser by the tenth so we can re-include it in our ride night rotation next year. CHEERS.

Cool!  I keep forgetting about the Eaglet Lake run.  Should be good.
