If anyone is interested, I was scouting some older big singles for another person and I have come across 3 oldies but goodies. These are his prices and can be negotiated a bit I'm sure.
A green 1950 M21 BSA 600 cc single - 20,000 Egyptian pounds OBO ($3,051 CDN)
A 1956 M21 BSA (I think) 600cc single - 20,000 Egyptian pounds OBO
A (not sure but I think it is about 1952) Matchless G8 500cc single - 25,000 Egyptian pounds OBO ($3,814 CDN) (price it too high for this one and I would bring it back to about 20,000 LE)
All these bikes are complete and have been recently running. They all have the required paperwork and they seem to be in pretty good nick. Of course I can't guarantee their condition but I sort of trust the fellow I'm talking to and I've met him in person before. The bikes I bought from him last time (3) were as described and not completely bagged out.
I'd be interested in taking one and maybe doubling up on the shipping to reduce costs. It ran $1,400 to bring the last one back a year ago so the cost might be about $800 each.
Check out the photos and see what you think. In the end it'll be a leap of faith as you won't really know about any purchase unless you get to tear it down and examine all the parts. I'm more interested in complete bikes and not too worried about a little wear and tear.
