Odd name for a motorcycle
« on: February 07, 2014, 01:53:56 AM »
Saw this side panel in a pile of parts recently.  Not sure what the bike is other than a 350 cc something.  Not too sure I'd want to own it anyways. How would a guy respond to the question "what are you riding?"
"I'm on a big D....."

"I'm on a little D....."

"I'm on an old D....."

None of the usual answers would seem to be appropriate....... :-\

Your posting made me curious so I found a manufacturer, Kymco in Taiwan that manufactures two scooters one called Grand Dink and the other model called New Dink.
So then the correct answer becomes I am riding a "New Dink" or I am riding a "Grand Dink".
Just in case anyone gets to ride one.

You're right Shep - that answers a couple of questions but raises a bunch more, such as - what do you say when you walk into the dealership?
"Show me your New D...."
or
"Let me take a look at your Grand D...."
or
"Can I trade in my old D.... for a new one?"

or maybe what the others exclaim when they first walk in to the showroom " Wow, what a bunch of D....s!"

Next -  how do you explain the purchase to your family?

"Honey - get your riding suit on, your old man has a new Grand D....!"

Too many complications for this kid.  :P

If the bike you are planning to use those wheels for the rear on is a hard tail I would think maybe twice. You might save a life or two. Please check the rivets. I feel those were engineered to be used on a swing arm application only which does not have the SHOCK LOAD on it that a hard tail has. You could be living on the edge using it. Ask a engineer not me others that don't have a certificate. Only one Dog's opinion.
