Ah, yup;  can't decide if it was my lucky day or not - maybe.  Riding out to Giscome tonight, (the speed limit  on that road is 80 -  I would say I was going just under that - maybe 75 or so:)  got into some gravel pulled up onto the road  - the previous corner had gravel, too, so I was just thinking, 'hold - hold' - but it didn't.  Lowsided and followed the bike into the opposite ditch.  Lost some skin, some pride, and a bike I really liked...
  but I'm fine - it could gave been lots worse.

Good see you're o.k.  A young guy I know had something similar happen a couple of weeks ago. He wasn't going slow and went over a bank.  Bike was toast and he got a few scrapes and bruises.

I was admiring your bike before the ride and have the last photo of it before the crash, I figure you may want it.  Going into a blind corner fast with a slow to 50 warning sign is taking a risk, you never know what may be around the corner, deer, broken down car, etc.  In this case it was the gravel that typicaly gets kicked up on a narrow road that got you.
I am glad you escaped more serious injury, broken bikes are of less consequence than broken bodies.  It is good that road has little traffic on it, if you were very unlucky a truck would have been coming at you when it happened.  We all are so glad that was not the case.  Good for you to take this loss with quite a good attitude.

in earlier days, they called a crane mishap a 'misadventure'. I think that would apply to this night. it was good to see only minor scrapes to yourself. the bike can always be repaired. and you even hid your tears. Good-job.

I,m glad you are still with us. As you know with my limited wrenching skills I feel I owe you alot, If I can help in anyway just let me know. I think it may buff out but I have "limited wrenching skills".

  Relieved you are all right.  Last one I would expect to crash. Odd how your forks blew apart? Bet your stiff and sore today. Anything I can help with please don't hesitate to ask. Cheers.

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing.  My dad had a saying for these situations, "As long as nobody is really hurt, the rest is just money".  Glad to see it's just money.

Beautiful bike to advanced project in a few seconds... usually viewed in slo-motion from the rider's point of view.

 thanks for the good wishes;  yup, I'm fine - a bit bevelled and leaky but nothing serious.  After all, I only fell about three feet... frame is bent along the midline, so I would say I am now all stocked-up on extra Guzzi engines, transmissions, and final-drives...

Front End really took a hit....Good to hear that you are OK....won't have to find another project for next winter now....Is the Frame from your other one the same?

Just catching up with my reading and found this. Russ just happy that you are ok and in one piece.
So sad to see one of my favourite motorcycles broken up.
Gravel scares the crap out of me, its a pity the city and district dont take more care of the clean up they dont do every year.
