New Shop Fixture

Mike McLintock bought one of the new-style $50 garage-chocks that are in stock now at Princess Auto and we tried it out on a few of the bikes and tires around my shop, and if your bike(s) have 100/90 18" or 19" front tires or the approximately 120/70/17" of a modern motorcycle the unit works perfectly well. On Harley-sized tires, like a 130/90 16", the unit works, but marginally, needing a wider nose-wedge; requiring some modification to the as-delivered specs.  Oldduc has the original version the P.A. one is a copy of (somewhere an English patent-holder is grinding his teeth) and though it costs 5 times as much, functionally it is almost identical. (though the original is a natty red to match your 999, for example, unlike the P.A. one which is blue)
So if anyone has been missing a centrestand,  check it out in the latest flyer or at Princess Auto.
