Need audio device advice for movie nights
« on: November 10, 2017, 09:33:52 PM »
I've been looking for a device that will take the analogue output from the RCA plugs at the back of the Nellys pub television and transmit it to Neil's bluetooth speaker.  I think I've found it but would like a 2nd opinion.  Here's what I have in mind.  Thoughts?

Looks like it would do the trick.  Keep in mind the effective range of most all Bluetooth devices is only about 10 - 15 meters (line of sight, less if you're going through heavy brick walls or British Bike owners ) before the signal starts to decay and you end up with garbled junk.

The other consideration would be the ability of your Bluetooth speaker to decode the apt-x signal in order to get the low latency effect responses. If it cannot, then you'll get the dreaded delay in sound sync.

You could also take a pair of those old PC speakers that we all seem to have lying around, use their RCA jacks, 15 meters of speaker wire and get the stereo effect.

Why be normal?
