Looking for good learner bike ! Cash / Trade
« on: June 29, 2016, 02:38:34 PM »
So we recently acquired a 1982 Honda Sabre 750 from a family member that was billed as ready to ride! Not the case when we got it home. This sparked my dad into getting his learners licence for MC's in his late 60's which I don't want to deter but I think this bike maybe a little too much bike for him to learn on. Looking for a decent little bike "ready to ride" 250-500 cc's, reasonably priced that he can learn on. I know there has been a couple floating around the club in the past fairly cheap. If anyone is interested in a trade for the 750 Sabre we would entertain that as well. My bro-in-law rode it last summer and then left it out all winter in Vernon. It runs good only with the choke on right now so I imagine the carbs require cleaning. The seat is being recovered by lightning and we bought a new battery for it yesterday. Had a seized front brake lever I managed to free up and seems to work fine now. Looks like it will require fork seals and a little TLC but could probably be a good bike for someone if they put in the effort. Anyway let me know if you have something as he wants to get riding this summer. cheers, Rob
