Retro racer

Back in my motorcycle shop day's I acquired a 1958 to 1964 Eaton's glider made by Raleigh of England bicycle. After a few rides The front tire tread split and made it go lump lump. Finally bought a new tire this summer and Sunday I changed it. About 3 or 4 years ago a fellow had a vintage boy racer at the father's day show and shine. Wanted to emulate it ever since. Stripped the original fenders, pack rack and headlight. Reversed the handlebars so they now point down instead of up. Installed a period leather racing saddle picked up somewhere cheap. Cool retro racer for under 30 bucks. Pedals were seized some what and the left one fell off on her maiden voyage. Everything on this bike is serviceable. Fixed the pedals today and tightened the rear wheel bearings which were loose. Then our 2 year old lost an axle nut. Went to Wiser's and nada. Funny thread pitch. Went to Jeff's and not only got a free nut but bought 2 road bikes for 20 bucks. Bad loss turned into a good deal. Keeping the good one and giving away the  other.  Now I will have 2 bikes to ride again. Good score. CHEERS.
