Yes it is an interesting write up and mostly true.  Some non bikers just are not observant and thus not so good drivers.  At the same time we can not totally ignore that we have our idiots also.  When any bike comes up on a car at a high rate of speed you can not always expect the driver in a car to see this sudden appearance of a small projectile.  If any of us can honestly say we were never surpised by the appearance of a vehicle, well you are better than I am, this has happened to me.  Yes, bikes can come out of nowhere...  Then there was the time a couple of riders of a nasty bike club were in passing mode in my rear view mirrors while on my bike.  I could see their intent, they were setting up to pass me on either side...I saw this soon enough to move over so they went by on my left only.  Suffice it to say we are not perfect, it is best to not be too one sided as this writer is.

People who wipe out on bikes by their own accord are not cool.  They overstepped their ability or that of the bike they rode and suffered a loss.  I like what he says about taking risks, not hanging with like minded middle roaders.  I can relate, even among bikers I stand out as one who loves to tan while I ride on the rare days we have to do that, I really enjoy riding on hot days.  I somewhat care about what people may think, but in some areas I am not going to change what I do to please people and 'fit in'.  Dress in whatever way makes you happy I say....at the same time if I had a friend who is not a skilled rider I would definitely urge him/her to suit up with leather each time they ride.  :)

Looks like another nice day, ride safe friends.
