It was Denis, the stator checks out ok with the ohmmeter. I have a voltmeter on order for the bike. I will coat the connectors with electrolytic grease and go from there...

The vf1100 has 12.6V revved & 13.5 revved with the light fuse removed.

Costco has a pallet of sheep skins, you can get one out the door for under $40
