General Discussion / Re: Motorized Bicycle

funny, after several blown head gaskets and much dorking around.  mine found its way to the dump last fall.  As I was offloading it, some kid asked if he could have it and it was loaded directly into his dads truck.  same bike, same motor.  I believe Laurie won a trophy with it in vernon.

I would expect it would be open by then.  Also, such a small portion is actually in the Yukon, I wonder where and how the closure would work.  It is something we would need to verify before heading out for sure.

I spoke with Arlou and she is excited and looking forward to hosting everyone here at the house if it all goes through.
We should know better where things stand by mid may.

General Discussion / shop time
« on: March 04, 2021, 08:32:27 AM »
So I have been busy.  Working on the XS i decided not to do a trike and went with sidecar instead.  It is a cedar and fibreglass body.  super light although it looks like a tank.  totally enclosed so we can bring the dog and camping.  I built a lift for the bikes to help organize the shop a bit.  I have added braces and a few pulleys to make it smoother.  I ordered shop cabinets from costco (New Age brand) and am almost organized in the shop.  I will be listing a honda shadow and hondamatic for sale soon if anyone is interested I will list it here first.  I am just waiting for the paperwork so they can be registered.  All this since christmas.  Busy boy with ADHD  :P  My internet is shitty right now so will send pics later

I know most of you old farts love leathers  ;D Buttttttt......fortnine has their Klim Badlands pants and carlsbad jacket on sale.  They are still not cheap but are 100% waterproof, breathable and have protective armour.  I bought the Klim carlsbad jacket last year and the badlands pants just this week.  I mean they do not look as cool as leather but are safer and more comfortable.  they have vents for hot riding, waterproof for wet and cold.  I look like a dork now but always did lol

I second the vote for fortune.  they have great return policy and good selection.

Also.....my buddy davinder just bought the Rabaconda tire changing stand/tool (600$).  the awesome catch is he doesn't own a shop or garage so It lives at my place.  I strongly suggest that the club buys one and charges members a low fee to use it.  it is the best and easiest tire change I have ever done!!!!!!! I changed my stiff nasty desert racing rubber off of the big KTM in like half an hour start to finish.  Anyways I know 600$ tool was not going to be in my budget and likely out of price range for most individuals but between the club when you consider the price of paying for a change over (either skinned knuckles or the 50$s at the local shop)i would recommend a group purchase

Sorry guys I have been a little special needs lately and keep putting my reminders on silent on my phone.  I then spring up out of bed at 10:30 and realize I missed another meeting.  Must be Covid brain or something.  I have been super busy here in terrace and was excited to share some of my goings on but I guess I will post in another thread.  Hope everyone is well!

I have an extremely low milage 1979 hondamatic 400 that will be going up for sale shortly  probably not what you are after as your bike has its nostalgia, but I do believe I have a shop manual and am happy to send pictures or scans of any sections you may need.  They are pretty simple bikes but.....those damn carbs can be finicky

« on: December 03, 2020, 08:35:50 AM »
hey gang, before i start one from scratch I thought I would ask.  Does anyone have a sidecar they want to get rid of?  I dont want or need the tub, as I am making that myself.  I am hoping to find a sidecar needing a little love for cheap.  otherwise, Princess auto and my credit card company will be happy to see me coming lol.  Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe

Hey gang,  Sorry for the long Hiatus.  Its been a weird year.   Kid graduated, I got divorced, met a new lady, Moved her in, covid hit, moved my mother on to the property due to health issues, built her a granny cottage.  Haven't had a hell of a lot of free time.  But I have never been more content and I finally feel like i am getting my feet under me.

SO... last night i finally got the 81 xs1100 ripping!  wohoooooooo!  Wow she is quick!  and sounds mean!  Now on to cosmetics, does anyone have a seat sitting around?  I am preferably looking for the king/queen type.  the one I have is pretty rotten and seat pan is on its last legs otherwise I would try and re upholster it.  Once bike is restored I am starting the sidecar :)

Oh and the new missus loves bikes !!!!!!! Just got her a mint, garage kept 1982 hondamatic 400 with 1800km on her....for a lawnmower luck turned around this year:)

Anyways, thanks in advance.  Stay safe out there.  Hope everyone is doing well
