Too bad Jeff can't do something like this - I think he'd have a blast. At his size, though, his 'wind-cheating' profile might cost him some competitive speed potential. Their not-too-busy road looks none too good - cracked and tarred - similar to what we have here, and Jeff finds that the speed at which he travels does indeed break down the bikes pretty fast, just as these guys are saying. At least there aren't so many cactii to land in here...

They don't race on the roads anymore - they do it @ the Musselman Go-Cart track and @ Willow Springs CA. now.
I've been building and riding these bikes for a couple years - LOADS of fun.

Looks like a blast. Maybe I will have to get a motor off of Jeff and build my own. Just need a bike of some sort, don't think my wife or son will let me use theirs.

Ya I bought one this year. The moter kit was about 175$ and it moves pretty good once you get it up and rolling. I bought a stinger motor, unfortunately even as brand new it was a lemon and the head blew off it first ride the head bolts were f#&^ed from the factory and someone had just jamed a second gasket in there to cover up the fact. so untill I get around to throwing a heli coil in there and a new gasket, shes parked. I put it on a retro old school single gear bike with only a rear back break. Pretty sketchy but cheap and fun.

Q - I put the motors into the old style cruiser bikes with a coaster brake, as well. You can easily add a front brake (and you should - a lost chain on the pedal side means no brakes on a cruiser bike) and it saves wear and tear on the coaster brake.
Shep- A factory kit travels about 40 - 45kph. Tuning and gear change-outs get you more speed.
