I havn't been doing it for a while    (  using the site for pics )   for the same reason........Although Hans has put some on recently         ( Nice pics by the way )

Don't have to sign in though to see them .... :o

I'm thinkin' maybe on Ride night we need to collect Pop bottles on the side of the highway ...... ::).................................and ....Sell lemonade   :o :o for 25 cents in the Legion parking lot on meeting nights to throw some cash at the site in order to improve it and make it more picture - entertaining friendly..... :D

The Front page pics work well....But the forum section could use some HELP..........IMHO !! ;D

Hey Donovan

You have to use a 3rd party image host to embed the pictures, like flickr or picassa web albums, and copy the link to the picture in between the img tags.  You can't host the picture from your own computer like this... (img)c:\temp\msiicon.gif(/img)... that doesn't work.

I've used Picassa for the pics below.

(img]http://lh6.ggpht.com/_i1RdtzMrLUM/SDuIntc4svI/AAAAAAAAACA/NjKtOHg1W10/s800/p1000435.jpg[/img)

all the brackets need to be [] though, not ().  If you change all the brackets to [] you get

Hope that helps

I have used photo bucket with some success. It took awhile to figure things out but then seemed to work o.k.

I have been trying to post a photo with no luck.  I don't get it.  I have posted pictures in the past by simply attaching to a file on my computer and presto ... no problems.  Than no longer seems to work so I did what Hans suggested.  I set up a photobucket account and tried to put the link betwee the img brackets.  When I posted, all that showed up was a small white square with a red ex in the middle.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dennis

If at first you do not succeed ....

I kept playing around with the photobucket.  I successfully posted the picture I wanted (regarding Kurt's bobber)

In furtherance to what Hans described, what worked for me was to
1. type the dialogue I wanted

2. Go to your photobucket page and scroll over the photo you want.  A drop down menu appears which includes several options including " IMG code "   Click on that one

3. Go back to your post or reply, and clic where you want the picture.

By picking the ING code from your photobucket page, it pops right into the post or reply ....  at least it did for me.

no, it works... I actually did make a Photobucket account, but then Terry fixed the website and I was able to Browse/ attach off the 'Additional Options'  right from my computer as Kurt showed me how to do in the way-back times.

RE: Much Much Go

That appears to be on a Honda Comstar wheel.  Is that one of your projects, or did you swipe the photo off the web?

What I am interested in is how custom lettering can be put on tires.  That looks like a cool custom add on.  I could envision several new tire names or logos such as "Bad Rubber," "'Ol Skool," or "Sick Slick."

I just grabbed that off a site;  same as the girl with the Guzzi stamp.  I just thought they were funny. My brother had a fixture used to cut or widen whitewall stripes on tires.  I think local pinstriper Cam McLeod has it now.  I don't know anything about making logoes like the one shown on the Comstar;  for sure - whatever it is - it is a surface treatment, though there may be a relief in the sidewall to support the colour/pigment.

Someone should warm up Cam into joining our group.

I need some pin striping which I (being a cheapskate) want for free.  Besides, he sounds like a kindred spirit.

Anyone know him well and can pile on the butter?

I know him.  He is a kindred spirit, as you say, in many ways.  He has a commitment to his greaser lifestyle (his description) beyond what is common in our club.  If Dennis was to start his own club, for say... professionals by day/brigands by night/gamblers by instinct sort of a vibe then you might be able to recruit Cam.  His tattoos stop with his shirtsleeves, but he has a personal style not so easily hidden.
  His Ironhead is certainly bitchin'.

let's test the theory and I'll try attaching a photo depicting my new project. Moved from South Sudan to Timor Leste in September. Back where I started a lot of years ago. More photos later. Not quite the "hardship post" as some of the others!

I used 'Additional Options' to load the photo.

Good on ya all around, Steve - on having escaped East Africa, and on successfully using the Additional Options box...
