Title: Cam Chain Adjuster
Post by: ironpan65 on December 20, 2009, 07:54:07 PM
Found this style of Cam Chain Adjuster on a 78 Kaw 650.....Can't find it listed in a Parts book for 1978.....shows up in 81-82 ???

Anybody seen this style and or knows how it works...What do I do to reset it....( I know...I should have a manual  ) :o

Not as nice lookin as Mad Macs' manual adjuster....

I am going to send an e-mail of a picture for the automatic tensioner for the 650. Not smart enough to post here. It appears that the one push rod is missing from what you are showing.

that does not look like any of the three different units that i have, have you checked the engine number to determine the engine year? maybe a newer engine

Yaa... The numbers on the Engine are...   KZ650BE 092143

I haven't found the info yet to confirm that this engine is a 78' 650 :-\

Fired up the engine tonight...sounds LOUD :o...need to hook up some mufflers...Feels like it could be a COOL BIKE!! 8)

Now I understand why there are guys who like this bike :D
