Title: BMW R65ls Collector Plate
Post by: Dennis on April 29, 2019, 11:35:59 AM
I took photos last week to apply for a collector plate.  When the side photos were printed, the rusty exhaust pipes looked way worse than this photo,

I decided the pipes needed some sprucing up.   They did not come off easily.  There are connector tubes which have fused.  I used lots of penetrating solvent, heat and a rubber mallet.  They would not come apart.

I eventually had to lift of the rear of the bike to get them off around the centre stand.

I painted the headers in flat black high temp paint, and the mufflers is cheap gloss black.

Peace & paint, Dennis
