I do not know if I am posting in the correct subtopic but here goes...
I am looking for a reputable, highly competent business where I can simply have my newly honed cylinders installed onto the block. Being a four cylinder (from one of my FJ's), it is truly a pain to put them over cylinders 2 and 3 and then attempt to put them on cylinders 1 and 4. I had so much fun that I bent a few rings and I do not plan to go through that exercise again. Yes, I put wooden blocks under the pistons to hold the crank in place, I tried a ring compression tool, I tried the popsicle stick trick but to no avail. North America is running out of OEM standard sized rings. ;D Once the cylinders are in place, I can do the rest of the job. Hope to hear some of your options. If you wish, you can email me.
Have a good one,
Dean

Don't the bottom of the jugs have a fairly good taper? I had good success by using some thin flexible plastic (cut strips out of overhead transparency) and hose clamps as a ring compressor. The thin plastic got far enough up the taper that the rings didn't hang up at all. And lots of lube :).

Alright Hans; you have convinced me. I am going to give it one more shot. If I bend or break one more ring, I think I am going to cry.

On the positive side... look at all of the carbon scrapers you now have.
