I'm putting the DR650 on the road this Sunday. I'll be at Starbucks at 5th & Central at 10:30-ish and leave at 11:30-ish, ride out to Hansard on the old Giscombe Highway. Join me if you wish (if only dual sports show then we could ride back on the North Fraser Road provided there's no sneaux on the road--Hans?)

You mean 15th? In your nice paragraph you mistakenly put in "5th" so I believe.

Or does he mean the Starbucks in Spruceland Shopping Centre - near SaveOn Foods?

I am quite sure he means 15th and not Spruceland.

Thanks Olaf, for the outing.
We rode To the Hansard Bridge and then took the pothole riddled Bowron Road to Purden and then back to PG. Surprisingly I did not have any issues with the overweight K100 but the one bridge on the Bowron Road is a little suspect in my eyes. Approximately 180 kms for this loop. I may take Paul's suggestion and use the Yamaha XS400 for the next wilderness trip.

You mentioned there was another road/route you said we could take from Hansard to get back to town but it had a lot of soft spots.
Which road was that? Would you have to take the Church FSR and then take a left onto the North Fraser FSR to Highway 97 North?

Can also come back along the Beaver-Bear FSR. Depending on which turn you take, it'll either spit you out at the Bowron River Bridge just west of Purden or between Willow Rive and Ferndale on the Giscome highway. It's probably not in the best condition.
