Just spent a month in the Desert in California. Took the opportunity to attend the Palm Springs Air Museum unveiling of their new Red Tail P51 Mustang.
For those that dont know the "Red Tails' were the first all black fighter squadron during WWII. They served as Bomber escorts in the European theatre with an excellent defensive record. The pilot is Bud Reilly in the second picture. Still going strong. There were a pile of planes there, B17, loads of Jet Fighters from all of the wars even some MIG 100's. Pretty cool way to spend an afternoon.
